Jammu: The Indian Army has foiled another infiltration bid by the terrorists in Keran sector in Kupwara districts in Kashmir along the LoC on Saturday night. The Indian troops retaliated to firing after the troops on the Pakistani side opened fire last night.
The recent killings of five Indian soldiers by the Pakistani troops have made the LoC the hotspot.
There have been 19 ceasefire violations in one week along the LoC. The Indian Army has said that the last two months have seen most ceasefire violations in months.
Defence spokesman SN Acharya said the Pakistani troops targeted the Indian forward areas with small arms fire at around 9.45 pm and Indian troops responded to it.
Pakistani troops on Friday also fired at Indian positions in Drass and Kaksar areas of Kargil district in Ladakh region.
