Army chief briefs J&K Governor on security situation

Srinagar: Chief of Army Staff General V K
Singh today met Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and
briefed him about the overall security situation in the state.

"The Army chief briefed the Governor about the overall
security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the emerging
threats on certain fronts," an official spokesman said after
the meeting.

They also discussed issues pertaining to infiltrations
from across the Line of Control and International Border
during their one-and-a-half hour meeting, he said.

Vohra also praised the role of Army, Border Roads
Organisation and others for their works in the wake of the
cloudburst disaster in Ladakh.

Earlier, CRPF Director General Vikram Srivastava called
on the Governor at Raj Bhavan and briefed him about various
issues relating to the role and responsibility of the
paramilitary force.

The Governor reiterated his concern about the loss of
human life during protest demonstrations.
