Jammu: The security grid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir is firmly in place and infiltration will not be easy, a top army official said on Friday.

"The security grid is in place and our troops are geared up for any kind of the eventuality. We are strong and well equipped to deal with any situation," the GoC said.
Asked whether the firing and ceasefire violation by Pakistan is aimed at aiding infiltration by militants, he said it is the modus operandi which Pakistan undertakes as far as infiltration of militants is concerned.
On the general security situation along the border and internal areas, Lt Gen Nimbhorkar said "the (security) situation is alright. There is no criticality".
As far as escalation in ceasefire violations is concerned, he said it is difficult to answer. "As far as military point of view is concerned, I cannot find any reason behind escalation in border skirmishes. We would have do much more analysis to find the reason," he said.
