An Army jawan died during a training session in an Army camp in Jodian, 40 kms from here, police said.
Jammu: An Army jawan died during a
training session in an Army camp in Jodian, 40 kms from here,
26-year-old Lok Narayan, jawan of 4 Rastriya Rifles
and a resident of Patna, was engaged in the map reading
practice during a special mountain mapping training. The jawan
suddenly slipped from the mountain in Jodian belt of Akhnoor
tehsil in Jammu district Tuesday night, they said.
He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared as
brought dead, they said, adding that the Army has ordered
a court of inquiry into it.
In a separate incident, a BSF jawan was today injured in
an accidental fire in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir,
an official said.
The incident occurred when Rajinder Kumar of 104
battalion of BSF was cleaning his rifle which suddenly went
off and a bullet hit his arm injuring him, the official said,
adding Kumar has been hospitalised.
