Jammu: Three ultras owing allegiance to the Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) were among six persons pushed back by the Army soon after their infiltration along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The ultras - 22-year-old Maroof Iqbal, 21-year-old Javaid Iqbal (Both Hizb) and Showkat Ali (25), his wife Shamida Kouser (22), his two children Khalid and Umar - had crossed over from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) to this side through the LoC in Hamirpur-Bhimbher Gali belt of Poonch late last night, an Army officer told PTI.
They were crossing illegally to J&K to avail the Return & Rehabilitation policy for Kashmir youth who have gone for arms training to PoK.
"We told them that this is not the right way to cross via the LoC to this side. This cannot be allowed", he said, adding that they were told to adopt a proper procedure for crossing and return back to Jammu and Kashmir as per the mechanism laid down under the policy.
The infiltrators had sim cards, mobiles, passports from Pakistan and other items but nothing incriminating, he said.
They were returned back to PoK as no one is allowed to cross over through the LoC, he said.
The militants had crossed over to PoK for arms and insurgency training along with a group of militant recruits and were living in Kotli, Muzafarabad and Mirpur belts of PoK.
