ASI among two suspended for dereliction of duty in J&K

Two police officers were suspended and 14 others transferred for alleged dereliction of duty in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police officer said.



Jammu: Two police officers were suspended and 14 others transferred for alleged dereliction of duty in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police officer said.

An Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Girdari Lal was today suspended when two convicts escaped from a police station in Kathua district on Monday, he said.

Head Constable Abdul Rehman was also suspended for dereliction of duty, he added.

The duo was suspended by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua, Gareeb Dass.

During a surprise security checking in Kathua city and the police station, the SSP found 14 cops absent from their duties on Monday night.
He ordered transfer of the 14 policemen to the far flung area of the district and posted Special Task Force Sarthal with immediate effect.
