Jammu: BJP on Tuesday said it was opposed to
any move by the Jammu and Kashmir government to ban
inter-district recruitment, claiming it would harm the
interests of Scheduled Castes in the state.
"The move of the present NC-Congress government to
impose a ban on inter-district recruitment in Jammu and
Kashmir is a conspiracy to deprive the SCs of the right of
reservation granted to them under state constitution," BJP
Anuschit Jaati Morcah state president Cham Lal Kanathia told
reporters here.
He said the state constitution provides 8.5 per cent
reservation in government jobs for the community.

The ten districts of Kashmir do not have any
population of SCs and if the ban is imposed, no one among the
SCs will be able to apply for any post in the Kashmir valley,
he said.
