Jammu: A three-member BJP Parliamentary
Panel on Sunday night discussed the security situation in Jammu and
Kashmir, the ongoing panchayat elections and party affairs
with the state party leadership here.
Senior BJP Parliamentarians Sumitra Mahajan, Maya Singh
and Sanjay Ahura, who reached here today as part of an All
Party Parliamentary Committee, held a meeting with BJP`s J&K leadership led by its state president Shamsher Singh Manhas,
a BJP spokesman said.
They discussed the present security situation in the
state from the party`s point of view and also other issues
relating to the state`s polity and development, he said.
Manhas gave them a briefing on the ongoing panchayat
elections. He also spelt out the different programmes planned
by the state unit for the next few months, especially those
relating to the interlocutors` report, shortage of electricity
and drinking water, price rise and forthcoming Amarnath yatra,
the spokesman said.
