BJP to take up security issue in budget session in J&K Assembly
BJP said that it will raise the issue pertaining to security situation of J&K in the budget session of the state Assembly beginning from February 28.
Jammu: BJP on Thursday said that it will raise
the issue pertaining to security situation of Jammu and
Kashmir in the budget session of the state Assembly beginning
from February 28.
"In the ensuing budget session of the state Assembly,
we will take up many issues pertaining to the problems facing
the people, more so, that of the state`s security and unity of
the country", Leader of the BJP Legislative Party Chaman Lal
Gupta told reporters.
He said, this session holds significance because after
disputing the finality of the accession issue, the state
government did not permit the hoisting of the tri-colour at
Lal Chowk and mistreated national figures like Sushma Swaraj
and Arun Jaitley.
"The party legislators were kept in police custody without
any arrest warrants and it was the height of despotism that
the workers who reached Srinagar to hoist the flag were
brutally tortured and maltreated and we will bring up these
issues during the budget session", Gupta said.
He said among other issues, the problem of unemployment,
soaring prices, neglect of farmers, ex-servicemen and other
sections of the society will also be raised.
