Jamshedpur: The BJP would perform "very well" in the Assembly Election in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir due to the "Narendra Modi wave" sweeping across both the states, a senior party leader claimed here on Friday.
"While the performance of the party in Jammu and Kashmir will be beyond the imagination of anyone, the party will form a government with two-third majority in Jharkhand," BJP spokesman Syed Shahnawaz Hussain claimed in a press conference here.
Hussain, who has returned after campaigning in the valley, said the party's poll prospect in the state was bright and the "Mission 44" target set by BJP president Amit Shah will be achieved.
The people of the two poll-bound states were excited particularly after the impressive turnout in the first phase of poll in favour of the party, he said claiming that Modi's election meetings were drawing more crowds than during his election meetings during the Lok Sabha poll.
Taking a jibe at AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, he said Congress had to arrange "pakarwa bheed" (lure people to attend the meetings) while people are turning up of their own in large numbers in Modi's meetings because of his impressive performance during last six months in power.
"The desperate Congress and Trinamool Congress have raised black money issue in the ongoing winter session of parliament only to save their skin and pressurising the government to disclose the names of accused having black money in overseas banks even though we have agreed to discuss the issue on the floor of the House."
"We have already handed over the list of accused to the Supreme Court as the matter was being probed by SIT," he said assuring to disclose the names following conviction.
As per the international treaty, we cannot disclose the names till they are convicted, he said.
Lambasting the TMC, BJP leader said as most of the accused in Saradha chitfund scam sent to jail belonged to the party, they wanted to save their skin from the misdeeds and raised the black money issue on the floor of the House despite BJP's efforts to unearth the culprits.
