Can`t say panchayat candidate killing linked to polls: Omar
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that there is no confirmation that the killing is related to elections.
Jammu: Admitting that militants had shot
dead a woman candidate for the coming Panchayat polls in
Kashmir Valley, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that there is no confirmation that the killing is
related to elections.
"Till now it has not been confirmed that it (killing
of woman Panchayat candidate) is related to Panchayati
elections", Omar told reporters today.
Omar was replying to questions about the killing of
45-year-old Mubeena, candidate for Panchayat polls in village
Karpora in Budgam district of Kashmir Valley last night.
He further said "police investigation is going on.
Whatever inputs we get during the investigation, we will share
with you (media)".
