Chidambaram, Omar Abdullah to co-chair review meet

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah will discuss security and development issues at a meeting in Srinagar.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram is scheduled to discuss security and development related issues at a meeting to be co-chaired by him and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar on Wednesday.

According to sources, Chidambaram, who will fly to Kargil from Delhi, to inaugurate a school function being organised by North Zone Cultural Council, and will also review the security situation in the state.

"Both Chidambaram and Omar Abdullah would chair a high level security review meeting here," sources said adding that developmental issues are also supposed to be addressed during the meeting.
The meeting would be attended by police, paramilitary, intelligence and army officials.
