faced with a deluge of applications for the posts of
constables at its centre in Reasi district of Jammu and
Kashmir, prompting the authorities to clarify that they are
not recruiting such personnel in the state at present.
The Central Industrial Security Force`s (CISF) unit
guarding the Salal hydroelectric power station in Reasi and
the post offices in the district have been receiving hundreds
of applications sent by locals, for about a month, for
recruitment to the posts of constables.
"The CISF authorities at Salal and few other places in
the state have registered an FIR with the police stating that
the force has not put out any advertisement for recruitment.
"Some unauthorised people or dubious agencies are selling
forged application forms at various places in Jammu and
Kashmir to cheat unemployed youth," a senior CISF officer said
at its headquarters here today.
"We want to make it clear that the force is not
recruiting currently and the youth should not be misled," the
The last time CISF advertised for recruitment in the
posts of constables was in October 2009, the process of which
has been completed.
"Whenever there is recruitment in CISF it will be
published in Employment News, regional newspapers and will
also be uploaded on the force website www.cisf.gov.in," an
official statement by CISF headquarters said.
The 1.50-lakh personnel strong CISF -- guarding the
country`s vital installations, airports, Delhi Metro,
historical buildings among others -- is recruiting additional
40,000 personnel in its lower ranks in a time-bound manner.
