Cold wave conditions continued in the Valley and the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of four degrees below the freezing point.

"The night temperature in Srinagar city was minus four degrees Celsius and the weather is likely to remain largely dry in Jammu and Kashmir in the next couple of days," an official of the local Met office said.

The Valley and Ladakh region are presently in the grip of a cold wave due to the continued spell of dry weather.

Parts of the famous Dal Lake, and other water bodies were partially frozen due to the dip in the night temperature.

Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded minimum temperatures of minus 6.8 and 3 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The mercury dipped to minus 13 degrees in Leh town of the Ladakh region overnight, the coldest temperature recorded in the state.

Kargil town in the same region recorded minus 12.8 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature at Jammu was 6.5 degrees Celsius.
