Jammu: CPI-M on Sunday demanded setting up of a
Law Commission in Jammu and Kashmir to have a comprehensive
review of the legal system and remove obsolete and outdated
laws in the state.

"There is an immediate need for setting up of Law
Commission in Jammu and Kashmir to undertake comprehensive
review of the legal system and remove obsolete and outdated
laws," CPI-M State Secretary MY Tarigami said in Jammu.

He asked the government to come up with Finance and
Election Commission bills for panchayats to pave the way for
real devolution of planning and funds mechanism.

Stressing on social auditing, the legislator called for
timely payment of both wages and work to the job card holders
under MGNREGA.
