Danish national`s body exhumed in Leh

The body of a foreign national who died in the flash floods on August 6 in Leh, was exhumed Sunday and handed over to the Royal Danish Embassy, a police spokesman said here.

Srinagar: The body of a foreign national who
died in the flash floods on August 6 in Leh, was exhumed Sunday
and handed over to the Royal Danish Embassy, a police
spokesman said here.

The mortal remains of Henrietee Borg Kristensen, a
resident of Grind Stet in Denmark, was exhumed and brought to
Leh today.

After proper identification by representatives of the
embassy and after completing all legal formalities, the
body was handed over to authorised person at camp Leh, the
spokesman said.

As many as 176 persons lost their lives in the flash
flood that was triggered by a cloudburst on the intervening
night of August 5-6.

Out of this, 156 bodies have been identified so far, the
spokesman said.
