data and other official records using modern techniques.
A comprehensive scheme is being formulated for
adopting latest techniques for record maintenance and
management for all the wings of J&K Police, Director General
of Police (DGP) Kuldeep Khoda said today.
The plan would be implemented in a phased manner under
the Police Modernisation Programme, Khoda said after
commissioning the newly constructed 4-storey block at the CID
Khoda said the state-of-the-art complex will house the
unique facility of Operational Intelligence Unit of the CID
wing aimed at better record management by replacing the
traditional system of keeping the records in wooden almirah
and steel boxes with Optimiser System for quick availability
of data and reference record to serve the people better.
The DGP said that a massive Police Modernisation
Programme is under implementation in the state where under all
the wings of police organisation are being provided with
latest facilities like accommodations, logistics and latest
technology for better functioning.
Computerisation of various wings is also high on our
agenda and much headway has already been made in this
direction, he said.
