Ali Shah Geelani on Thursday warned of "dire consequences" if
Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru was hanged.
It will unleash a "storm", Geelani said in a statement.
The Hurriyat hawk`s statement comes a day after Union
Home Ministry is understood to have recommended that Guru`s
mercy petition be rejected and he be hanged.
Guru, a resident of north Kashmir`s volatile Sopore
town, had sent a mercy petition to President Pratibha Patil
after he was sentenced to death for his role in the 2001
