Jammu: A dismissed Jammu and Kashmir police
constable has been arrested for his alleged links with Hizbul
Mujahideen divisional commander Javaid Qureshi, who was
arrested last month from Dehradun in Uttarakhand, police said
on Wednesday.

On a tip off, dismissed cop Davinder Kumar alias DK, a
resident of Bhaderwah in Doda district, was arrested during a
raid at a hideout from Bhalla in Doda last night, the police
said.

They said the dismissed cop was wanted in nine criminal
cases including a case pertaining to supply of arms and
ammunition and other logistic support to Qureshi.

During his posting as Incharge, Operations at picket
Sarak in Marmat in 2001, Kumar had helped Qureshi. He used to
sell AK rounds for Rs 20 each and Insas rounds for Rs 5 each
to the militants, thus earning huge amounts of money, the
police said.

He had also received Rs 50,000 from militants for
providing them a gun and Rs 25,000 for giving them a pistol,
they said.

A case has been registered against him and further
investigations are going on.
