ECI extends last date to Nov 2 for changes in electoral rolls

The Election Commission of India has extended the last date from today to November 2 for filing claims or objections to changes in the electoral rolls in Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar: The Election Commission of India has extended the last date from today to November 2 for filing claims or objections to changes in the electoral rolls in Jammu and Kashmir.
"As per the public notice issued by Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Umang Narula, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the period of filing claims and objections up to November 2, 2013, for the ongoing special summary revision of electoral rolls," an official spokesman said today.
All those attaining the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2014, will be eligible for polling in the state.

As per the notice, all the stake holders are requested to participate in the revision exercise of the electoral rolls so that maximum number of eligible voters are enrolled, the spokesman said.
