Jammu: Education has been brought under the
ambit of essential services in Jammu and Kashmir to streamline
functioning of government schools and enforce accountability
in these institutions.
This was stated by School Education Minister Peerzada
Mohammad Sayeed at a meeting of Chief Education Officers and
Principals of District Institute of Education and Training of
Jammu division here on Saturday.
The Minister said an order to bring education under
the ambit of essential services had already been issued by the
state government, according to an official release.
The decision was taken to enforce accountability in
schools, he said adding the government had banned mid-term and
premature transfer of teachers from this month to enable
students to carry on their studies without any interruption.
Sayeed directed the officers to strictly implement the
transfer policy, the release said.
Referring to the current situation in Kashmir valley,
he appealed to parents to make every possible effort to send
their wards to schools.
