Srinagar: Eight people were killed and nine others injured in a road accident in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, police said today.
A Tata Sumo skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge at Cobra Nallah, Toll Post, in the district resulting in the death of eight passengers and injuries to nine others, they said.
The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and a case has been registered, they said.
