A 20 motorcyclists expedition of Ladakh Scouts has been flagged off in a bid to attract more youth to join the army.
Srinagar: An expedition by 20 motorcyclists of Ladakh Scouts, which will traverse a distance of over 2100 kilometres through four states, has been flagged off in a bid
to attract more youth to join the army.
The expedition was flagged off from Karu in Ladakh region by General Officer Commanding of the Trishul Division, Major General K M Balsara yesterday, a defence spokesman said here on Sunday.
He said the expedition, sponsored by Hero Honda Motorcycles, will traverse 2100 kms with the team crossing the entire Ladakh region, Srinagar via the Zozilla Pass.
Encouraging the youth to join the aremed forces, spreading the message of peace and national integration, delivering social messages on issues like child marriage, global warming, hazards of polythene etc are the aims of the expedition, he said.
