Explosives recovered from militant hideout in J&K

A militant hideout was Thursday busted by the security forces in Mendhar area of Poonch district and some ammunition and explosives were recovered from it, police said here.

Poonch: A militant hideout was Thursday busted by the security forces in Mendhar area of Poonch district and some ammunition and explosives were recovered from it, police said here.
On specific information, a joint team of police and Rashtriya Rifle troops launched a search operation and busted the militant hideout at Lower Mohalla in Mendhar area,
about 180-kms from here, in Poonch district, Poonch Senior Superintendent of Police Manmohan Singh said.
The recoveries from the hideout included 231 rounds of AK ammunition, two AK magazines, 48 pika rounds, three RPG rounds, 2.5 kgs of explosive powder used in Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and 12 bundles of IED wire.
