Jammu: In yet another effort to reach out to rural and remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the first sub-divisional web site is being launched in the state to give
information on various public utilities and schemes to the people of militancy-hit Basantgarh area.
"First ever official web site of a sub-division in Jammu and Kashmir state -- Dudu-Basantgarh in Udhampur district-- would be launched tomorrow," Sub-Divisional
Magistrate (SDM), Basantgarh, Amit Sharma told a news agency.
The web site "dudubasantgarh.gov.in" would be launched by the Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation at Udhampur district headquarter, Sharma said.
Dudu-Basantgarh is a mountainous belt of Jammu and Kashmir, which was battered by the two-decade long militancy.
Jammu and Kashmir has already 22 district web sites and 19 departmental or corporations web sites to inform the people about development programmes, schemes, public utility services.
"This website will have all multi-sectoral information on central schemes for rural and hilly people, information on development, education, health services, power
supplies and other public utilities," Sharma said.
