Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir DGP Kuldeep Khoda on Sunday said the government is focussing to make the state police a model police force.

"The department is at par with the premier police agencies. We are focussing to make J&K Police a model police force in the country," he said at a function organised by Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy in collaboration with Bureau of Police Research and Development in Udhampur.

"An ambitious plan has been chalked out for conducting various advanced training courses for J&K Police," DGP said. Khoda said other measures like modernisation of equipment and gadgets are also being given top priority.

Upgrading of police training institutes is in offing and the training syllabus as per the latest requirements has also been implemented for various courses.
