Gas Turbine Pampore to become operational soon

Jammu: As Kashmir grapples with the power
crisis, the state government today said it will soon make Gas
Turbine Pampore operational for providing scheduled power
supply to consumers in the valley.

"Gas Turbine Pampore would be made operational within
a week time to add more than 75 MWs to existing valley`s
hydro-power generation for proving scheduled power supply to
the consumers during winter months," Minister of State for
Power Shabir Ahmed Khan said while taking stock of the power
generation and distribution in Kashmir valley.

He also asked the Power Department officers to take
measures in order to provide un-interrupted power supply to
Shia dominated areas during Muharram.
