Srinagar: A government teacher was arrested on Wednesday by police in connection with the death of young woman in Anantnag district recently.

was arrested in connection with the death of a young woman,
whose body was recovered from Sherbagh in Anantnag town, 55
kilometres from here on December 17, a police spokesman said.
He said the death of 29-year-old looked suspicious,
although there were no apparent marks of violence on her body.
During the investigation, it transpired that the woman
was lured for employment in year 2000 by Dar, a resident of
Brakpora village of Anantnag. "The woman fell in the trap of
the teacher who used her for his pleasure. He was also
instrumental in providing sedative and anti-anxiety drugs to
the woman who ultimately ended her life to get rid of the
whirl-poll created by him," the spokesman said adding Dar was
instrumental in inducing her to commit suicide.
A case has been registered in this connection at
Anantnag, the spokesman said.
