Hizbul Mujaheedin militant arrested in J&K

A Hizbul Mujaheedin militant was arrested in Banihal tehsil of Ramban district.

Jammu: A Hizbul Mujaheedin militant was arrested and some money meant to be used for alleged terrorist activities recovered from another person by the security forces in Banihal tehsil of Ramban district.

On specific information that money meant for terrorists was being taken from Banihal to Kharee by self styled HM district commander Abdul Rashid Naik alias Qari Zubair, police yesterday arrested the courier Fareed Ahmed at Naka near Loblatha-Kharee, about 195 Kms from here, a police spokesman said here today.

Police also recovered Rs 20,000 and a letter addressed to the HM commander from Ahmed during search.

During preliminary investigations, Ahmed revealed that the money was given to him by HM militant Imtiaz Ahmed Hazam at Nagbal in Banihal.

Later a raid was conducted and Hazam was arrested.
