Srinagar: A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was reportedly killed by Army troops in an encounter in Jammua and Kashmir`s Sopore district in the wee hours of Sunday.
The gunbattle took place when Army received information that the militant, Shafi Sheikh, was hiding in one of the houses in the district, as per news reports.
The police and the Army launched a joint action in the area which was cordoned off.
The gunbattle took place between the militants and the security forces in which Sheikh was killed.
The search operation is on to see if any other militant is hiding in the area.
