IED blast injures two soldiers in Srinagar

Two soldiers were on Thursday injured when suspected militants triggered an IED blast in north Kashmir's Baramulla district to target an Army convoy.

Srinagar: Two soldiers were on Thursday injured when suspected militants triggered an IED blast in north Kashmir's Baramulla district to target an Army convoy.

The ultras detonated the IED (Improvised Explosive Device) in the Rafiabad area of Baramulla at around 11:45 am as an Army convoy was passing through the area, police said.

Two Army jawans sustained injuries in the blast, they said, adding the injured personnel have been rushed to an Army hospital.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched search operations.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
