IED recovered, destroyed by security forces in Jammu

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered by the security forces in a forest area of Thanamandi in Rajouri district, a defence spokesman said here.

Jammu: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered by the security forces in a forest area of Thanamandi in Rajouri district, a defence spokesman said here.

On a tip off, a column of troops carried out search operation in Kathoni forest area, about 180-kms from here, in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district yesterday and detected the
3.5 kg device, he said, adding the IED was later destroyed.
Meanwhile, two guns were recovered by Ali Mohammad Dhobi while he was digging his fields at Dool village of Kishtwar district yesterday, officials said.

The guns were later handed over to the police.
