New Delhi: Any decision taken at the proposed all party meeting to review the situation in violence-hit Kashmir should be implemented at the earliest, Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah said on Friday.
"An all-party meeting is likely to be held on the situation in Kashmir. Let us not dig graves. This has not happened earlier. At least it is happening now. Action should be taken on whatever emerges from the meeting," he told reporters outside Parliament House here.
The New and Renewable Energy Minister also expressed concern at the cloudburst in Leh which had led to the death of scores of people.
"Though the situation in the state is grave, I am sure it will stabilise soon. There is nothing to worry," he said.
Abdullah said the Leh airport was "out of commission" and communications lines were disrupted but attempts were being made to rescue the people from the area.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is also a former Chief Minister of the state, said he had also tried to get information from Congress leaders in Leh about the situation.
"These are dry mountains. When I was chief minister then also there were floods but this time the situation is worse," he said.
