Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP today demanded judicial inquiry into recent harrasment and molestation by police to the family of head constable in Bhaderwah area of Doda district.

"A police party comprising of about 8-9 people had opened few rounds of fire and tried to molest the family members of Head Constable Devinder Kumar at Larote village of Bhaderwah tehsil in Doda district on May 16", state BJP leaders told reporters here.

Leader of state BJP Legislator Party Chaman Lal Gupta said the party was forced to bring the matter before the media after higher authorities did not respond to the repeated pleading of the family and local leaders of Bhaderwah.

Gupta alleged that police at the direction of SSP Doda Prabhat Singh had registered fabricated case against Head Constable Kumar, who has been absconding for past some time.
