Jammu: After holding agitations for over
a month in support of their demand for recognition to Indira
Gandhi Government Dental College, students today sat on
fast-unto-death inside the campus.

Four student leaders- Pawan Singh Jasrotia, Asif Iqbal
Choudhary, Gulshan Kumar and Jehangir Ahmed- sat on
fast-unto-death before the administrative block of the college
here.

"The students are on fast-unto-death in support of
their demands and government`s failure to get approval and
recognition from Dental Council of India (DCI)," Jasrotia told
reporters here.

The agitating students, who are on indefinite strike
since August 10, raised slogans against the college
administration and government.

The students had also met Union Minister for Health
Ghulam Nabi Azad but claimed that though he belongs to the
state he was not very forthcoming on their demand.
