"Deployment of police personnel has been increased on all the infiltration routes. The police stations and posts at the bordering areas have been asked to enhance their vigil," Beig said.

Vital installations across the Jammu city, including the bus stands, the railway station and airport have been put on high alert besides the night patrolling has also been increased in the city, Beig added.

Security has been tightened ahead of New Year eve celebrations also, he said.
