Jammu: Braving biting chill, a group of
Anna Hazare`s supporters commenced a three-day sit-in in the
city on Tuesday to express solidarity with social activist`s
agitation for a strong Lokpal Bill.
Over 200 agitators, under the banner of `Jammu and
Kashmir-India Against Corruption`, began the protest in front
of the Press Club here.
Chanting slogans, the protesters demanded passage of the
Jan Lokpal in Parliament at the earliest.
"The common man is fed up with corruption and everyone
is with Hazare in this war. We appeal to the government to
pass the anti-graft bill at the earliest," Pavitar Singh, head
of the Jammu Province People`s Front, said.
Protests are being held in various other parts of the
country to express solidarity with Anna`s three-day fast which
began in Mumbai today.
