J&K council sets up panel to probe land issue
J&K legislative council set up a panel to look into the case of acquisition and conversion of prime agricultural land for industry-related purpose.
Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir legislative
council today set up a five-member panel to look into the case
of acquisition and alleged conversion of prime agricultural
land for industry-related purpose in Samba district.
The move was taken after the matter was raised by PDP
member Murtaza Ahmad Khan in the legislative council on March
8. He had sought to know why a huge chunk of prime agriculture
land was being converted for non-agriculture use in
contravention to government policy.
