J&K doctor elected coveted International post

A J&K doctor has brought laurels to the state by getting elected as president of the Indian Chapter of the prestigious International College of Surgeons.

Jammu: A Jammu and Kashmir doctor has brought
laurels to the state by getting elected as president of the
Indian Chapter of the prestigious International College of
Surgeons.

Dr R K Chrungoo, an honorary fellow of the International
College of Laparoscopic Surgeons, was elected on Friday for a
two-year term beginning 2013.

Chrungoo had served as the vice president of the same body
for two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2008, the doctor`s
spokesman said on Tuesday.

A professor of surgery at the ASCOMS here, Chrungoo also
received Fellowships of IAGES (Indian Association of
Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons in 2007 and of the
International College of Surgeons in 1988.
