J&K government a total failure on all fronts: PDP

Opposition PDP on Friday termed the Jammu and Kashmir government a "total failure" and alleged that the coalition government has taken only anti-people steps.

Jammu: Opposition PDP on Friday termed the Jammu and Kashmir government a "total failure" and alleged that the coalition government has taken only anti-people steps.

"The Omar Abdullah-led coalition regime is a total failure on all fronts. During the last five years this regime has done nothing except taking anti-people steps for its survival," PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma said.

Sharama, while addressing a series of public meetings at Lalyal camp and Tatyal areas of Marh Assembly segment near here, said that this belt has huge agricultural potential, but it was failure on the part of state government that it could not be explored.

He mentioned that this belt is known for its vegetable produce but the authorities have failed to realise that potential due to prevailing "ad-hocism" in the administration and the government.
"The Omar-led government lacks vision to improve socio-economic conditions of the people," he said, and emphasised the need of starting a cooperative movement so that vegetable growers get maximum benefit of their products.

"PDP would formulate a comprehensive policy for vegetable growers of Marh and adjoining areas," he said.

Sharma said during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed a comprehensive policy was formulated for the socio-economic growth of all sections of the society.

Horticulture and agriculture were priority areas during the PDP rule, he said.
