Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government has
ordered a probe into alleged fake allotments of the state and
Evacuee Property land.

"Government has received various complaints regarding
fake allotments of the state and EP land in different areas.
We have ordered an inquiry into it", Raman Bhalla, Minister
for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, said during an
inspection at Bahu fort area in Jammu.

The minister asked Revenue officials to inquire into
the complaints and take necessary actions to retrieve the
plots.

Bhalla directed officials to fence all the government
land as per revenue record to keep grabbers at bay.

The government is planning to use the state land for
infrastructure development and other purposes like
construction of schools and multipurpose community halls, he
said.

The minister sought cooperation of the people in
identifying the encroached land and asked them to approach the
special complaint cells in their respective area. He also
appealed people to post information regarding land grabbers on
website www.jammu@nic.in.

The Minister asked grabbers to vacate land
voluntarily, or face action under Public Safety Act.
