`J&K govt pursuing case of missing Haj pilgrim`

The State Haj Committee is pursuing the case of missing J&K resident Ghulam Mohammad Shah with Saudi authorities, the Jammu and Kashmir govt said.



Jammu: The State Haj Committee is pursuing the case of missing J-K resident Ghulam Mohammad Shah with Saudi authorities, the Jammu and Kashmir government said on Friday.
"The State Hajj Committee is persistently pursuing the matter of missing of Ghulam Mohammad Shah from Hajj pilgrimage with Consulate General of India, Jeddah, as well as Hajj Committee of India through several reminders," Minister of State for Haj & Auqaf, Ahmed Khan told the Legislative Council here.
The authorities of Haj Committee of India and Consul (Haj) posted in Makkah have assured the government that all efforts will be taken to trace out the missing pilgrim at the earliest, Khan said.

The state Speaker also took up the matter with the Union Minister for External Affairs on December 21 last year for ascertaining the facts of the case, he added.
