J&K govt striving to create investment-friendly envt: Omar

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the government is striving for creating investment-friendly environment in the state.

Srinagar: Batting for industrialisation in
Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday said the
government is striving for creating investment-friendly
environment in the state.

"While development of skills and enhancement of
employability of youth is receiving priority attention, the
government is striving for creating investment-friendly
environment in the state," Omar said after inspecting a cement
plant of a local entrepreneur at Khrew, 12 km from here.

Though we are striving for providing employment to the
youth of state in government sector, unemployment crisis needs
to be tackled through industrialisation and entrepreneurship
development, Omar said.

He said his government has initiated wide-ranging
measures for the development of micro, small and medium
enterprise (MSME) sector in the state.

Omar said special economic packages for entrepreneurs
would be further provided to encourage launch of feasible
ventures by local investors in the state.

"Jammu and Kashmir possesses rich potential for
investment in agriculture, horticulture, food processing,
power generation, software technology, floriculture, health,
education, tourism and similar other sectors," he said.

Omar asked local investors to move ahead in launching
ventures in PPP mode with the government and joint ventures
with outside investors.
