directed divisional commissioners and district magistrates in the state to ensure drinking water facility in schools following a Supreme Court directive in this regard.
Chief Secretary Madhav Lal has directed the commissioners and magistrates in the state to submit status on the National
Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) under which every
school is provided potable drinking water facility, an
official spokesman said here.

yesterday and directed them to cover all the schools under
NRDWP to ensure compliance of the Supreme Court direction, he

released to extend potable water facility to nearly 2,000
schools in the state, there "should not be any hindrance" in
