Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra on Tuesday reviewed the arrangements for the ongoing pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas.

Vohra, who is also Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), reviewed the movement of the yatris to the Holy Cave at a meeting with Chief Executive Officer RK Goyal and other officers of the Board here, a Raj Bhawan press release said.

Taking note of the improvement in the weather conditions and the subsequent smooth movement of the pilgrims on both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, the Governor said there was need for inspection of sanitation arrangements at the base camps and all the camps along the tracks and at the Holy Cave twice a day.

The 46-day annual yatra commenced on June 17 and so far over three lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the cave shrine.
