Jammu: In a joint operation, police and security forces on Friday thwarted a major terror plot by busting a terrorist hideout in Ramban district and recovering a huge cache of arms and ammunition from there.

Acting on a tip-off police along with Rashtriya Rifle personnel launched a search operation in Lijnaal, Bhimdassa area of Gool and recovered 2.5 kg of explosives, one AK-56 body cover and 166 AK rounds.

The hideout was located inside a natural cave, an official release said.
