Jammu: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Murli Manohar Joshi here Saturday called the central government interlocutors` report on Jammu and Kashmir as "dangerous" and said it favours separatists and discourages nationalist forces.

Joshi said the interlocutors, in their report, had suggested the fragmentation of the state and its tone and tenor favoured separatists.
"Any consideration of the report will be catastrophic for the national unity and the unity of the state," Joshi told reporters here.

The BJP leader was here to commemorate the death anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of erstwhile Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which existed from 1951 to 1980 when it was succeeded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Joshi was referring to the report, "A New Compact with the People of Jammu and Kashmir", prepared by senior journalist Dileep Padgaonkar, academician Radha Kumar and former information commissioner MM Ansari, which was made public early this month.

The report suggested regional councils for the state`s three regions and reviewing of all central laws extended to the state after 1953.
