J&K Police rescues minor girl in Budgam

A 12-year-old girl, abducted by a man five days ago, was rescued in Budgam district of central Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

a man five days ago, was rescued in Budgam district of central
Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

Shahjahan Wani, a resident of Watalpora village, was
arrested during an operation conducted under the supervision
of sub-divisional police officer Magam Mubashir Hussain
Bukhari last evening, the spokesman said.

He said Magam police station received information that
a minor girl has been kidnapped by Wani from railway crossing
Mazhama on Friday.

A special team of police rescued the girl from Hanzan-
Malpora village of Beerwah, 30 kms from here, the spokesman
said.

A case has been registered against Wani at Magam
police station, the spokesman said, adding that the girl has
been handed over to her parents.
