Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reeled under cold
wave as mercury further dipped in many areas for the third
consecutive day Friday.
Srinagar recorded a minimum of minus 2.6 degrees Celsius
against minus 2.2 deg C Thursday, Met office said.
Famous hill resort of Pahalgam, in south Kashmir, was the
coldest place in the valley with a low of minus 6.2 deg C
followed by Kupwara in north Kashmir at minus 5 deg C.
The temperature of Qazigund and Kokernag in south Kashmir
settled at minus 3.2 deg C and minus 1.9 deg C Friday.
Kargil and Leh in Ladakh region reeled under cold
conditions with a minimum of minus 17.2 deg C and minus 16.2
deg C.
However, mercury rose in Jammu region and settled at a low
of 7.6 deg C against 5.8 deg C Thursday.
