J&K govt has released Rs 5.5 crore for restoration of public utilities damaged in the cyclonic windstorm that struck the state in March this yr.
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has released Rs 5.5 crore for restoration of public utilities damaged in the cyclonic windstorm that struck the state in March this year.
"The State Executive Committee headed by Chief Secretary Madhav Lal on Thursday released Rs 5.5 crore out of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF)," an official spokesman said on Friday.
He said the funds have been released as part of the relief provided to the affected families and for temporary restoration of public utilities and other non-residential infrastructure damaged due to cyclonic windstorm that hit the state in March this year.
The Executive Committee has directed the concerned officials to further assess and recommend the relief following norms of assistance from the SDRF, the spokesman said, adding the committee also directed for submitting utilisation certificates of the funds released so far.
